The Graduate University for Advanced Studies founded in October 1988, was the 96th national university in Japan. Known as Sokendai, it is the first university to exclusively offer doctoral programs in Japan. Utilizing Inter-University Research Institutes, Sokendai aims to foster creative international researchers with wide-ranging vision who are capable to cross conventional academic boundaries to pioneer and develop original academic research. The High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) has one school, School of High Energy Accelerator Science, which is consisted of three departments of Accelerator Science, Materials Structure Science and Particle and Nuclear Physics. These departments work closely together, using KEK research activities as a basis for graduate education.
HARADA, Ayaka (Dept. of Materials Structure Science) received a poster award at ACA 2016, American Crystallographic Association. This award is given to noteworthy research results in new laboratory equipment, methods and methodology in structural analysis and dynamics research of substances.
